Another thing that is completely unrelated: Snow/ice storms are quite awesome. Not only is there a chance to miss class but also there is the fun part of just being out in the storm. The last ice storm we had put about 3-4 inches of ice on everything and it was just entertaining to walk around. Not only are they fun but they give everyone a chance to relax and not have to worry about the usual and have the ability to take part in normally rare activities. Such as reading a book, playing a game or sleeping and waking up to a pancake breakfast.

The Unseen Menace:

Captains log:
240 hours since Launch

As the minutes pass everyone's minds are getting pushed further and further to the breaking point. Of course anyone put in our position would be affected in the same way because everyday we have to face the fact that a little over six billion people were vaporized. Now other unneeded negative events are occurring, I have noticed unusual drops in our collective food supply. Sure we have lots of food, well enough to last a whole year, but it must be rationed to ensures much time as needed to possibly find a new home. It took four entire days to interrogate everyone, well i should say ask everyone kindly, then I talked to a young woman named Stacy. As soon as i walked into her small room i knew something was a little off. After about twenty mintues I heard an odd little snort, I searched the entire room and found a small boar in a bundle of clothes nibbling on a handful of grain. Now I was faced with an issue, there is a boar here with us on this floating can and it's eating our food. I found Henry, the math/science wiz out of us, and asked him to crunch the numbers. It turns out the pig wouldn't be too much of an issue but i had to explain the situation to Stacy, the fact that eventually we'll have to kill the pig and probably have ham and pork chops. At first I thought what could make things worse, when in reality these type of event actually make life easier because rather than churning you mind about the future you get to fix something you actually have control over.

The Journey:

Captains log:
120 hours since launch

Before I begin my first entry i would just like to clarify the fact that I am not an actual captain. The truth is I have had no actual military or NASA training; I am simply the first person to take some form of control over our situation how ever that may be defined. Besides at this point I feel like Captain Kirk anyway considering I'm taking what is left to a new frontier. Though, i still don't understand myself why I'm even writing this, the only people left are the nine here with me and they're going through the exact same experience. Then again writing entries like this would help any kind of next generation to know how they came into being wherever they may end up. Well that's enough of that deep thinking non-sense, what is meant to be said is that it has been five so-called days since we , the lucky ten, blasted of what became a giant ball of molten rock. I say so-called days because we are floating through space it what i could only describe as a tin can. Also the reason why we're are so lucky is the fact that originally this was supposed to be the new cool thing, hopping into a giant can and going up into space for a few days. Sounds cool right, feel what it's like to be weightless or to become an astronaut. Nope not anything like that because the day of our launch something ridiculous and sporadic happened and the Earth started going crazy. I would go into more detail but what do i know, i just wanted a trip to space if i was really smart i would have invested money into become an astronaut. Then again I ended up having to spend most of my life in space anyway. I barely know anyone here, just and name and how sad they were when the Earth exploded and sent us rocketing to the not so distant unknown. I don't even know what's a better choice fighting and hoping to save humanity, or wishing for a quick death. I just don't know...

The Final Chapter:

Captains log:
24,552 days since Arrival

We have been successfully rebuilding our old civilization as we grow in numbers. Our food supply seems to be maintaining but if it were to disappear, there would be no hope of recovering. Water is somewhat scarce but as we dig deeper we find more and more ice and gain a few more years. The fact is we have done it; we lost a planet, though i do not know what it looked like, and we have survived. Let this be the last words of the greatest man to save humanity. May my father rest in peace because, though I don't know what life was like I at least know that i have been given life.
